In some cases, health care professionals may use the trade name deltasone or other names liquid pred or meticorten or orasone when referring to the generic drug name prednisone. Liquid pred and meticorten and orasone are other names for prednisone. Drug type: Prednisone has many uses in the treatment of cancer. (For more detail, see "How this drug works" section below).
